Does subcategories inherit parameters from parents?

no we would have to parse all parent category parameters but maybe we should do this , it will not be too much ...

1. a single query ... to get all parameters of parent categories
2. a loop to merge them and it will be rather fast if you only have e.g. less than 10 parents !! ? hhmm

e.g. a new COMPONENT parameter:

Inherit parameters from:
1. Component
2. From parent category

and this parameter inside category parameters:

Inherit parameters from:
0. Use Global (... parameter value in component settings)
1. Component
2. From parent category

parameter heritage from parent is implemented for v2.1.3 (available soon),
because it is a consideration / intention we had for quite sometime

- we always want to make configuration easier, and less time consuming

about easier configuration, restructuring parameters and maintaining compatibility, and rewriting descriptions and adding better parameters was a really big effort, (e.g. see parameters in v1.5.4 for J1.5 and you will see the big difference)
