Binding has never caused problems with data loss it updates a FLEXIcontent specific table, but it is good practice to backup your site regularly and when making major changes

Also NOTE:
- if you ever uninstall FLEXIcontent only FLEXIcontent extended data (fields) will be lost,
- after installing you should take a few steps to shape the display of your content:
