How to prevent submission in Top level category. was created by dealio

Hi i have a category structure like this

Top Category (Directory)
--> SubCategory1 (Books)
--> SubCategory2 (Schools)

Is there a way deny publishing in the Top Category?

I the only way I can get it to work is if I move the SubCategories to the Top most level because of inheritance properties of the subcategories.

Also, is there a way to limit the number of items a person can submit in a given category? For example in SubCategory2 allow a user to submit only 2 items.

Hello

Joomla did not implement this when ACL was implemented

and this has been discussed, requested by other users, we think it is useful and will be supported in a future version

we already added new ACL in v2.2.0

(after initial submission)
- "can change main category"
- "can change secondary categories"
- "can change featured categories"

but in the case we think, ACL is not appropriate, rather this is an attribute: "category is assignable"

maybe a component multi-select parameter :
"Assignable categories"
