Hello

this is not allowed in current version

-- and the Joomla article view is always redirected to FLEXIcontent item view

1. but you can make menu item to Joomla category view, and there is no automatic redirection for Joomla category view

2. and in the case of backend users,
in FLEXIcontent system plugin,
you can exclude for some user-groups the redirection:
Joomla Category manager --> FLEXIcontent Category manager

thus you can edit some categories with Joomla category manager,

but
a. take care not to edit the categories that you want to be managed by FLEXIcontent

b. remember that ACL permissions of ALL categories will inherit from FLEXIcontent component, even if you list a category via the Joomla category view

-- finally, there are some thought on trying to do this for a future FC version

Regards

I'm using another component that also uses the articles. The other component allows me to disable for certain categories but since flexicontent is defaulted to all categories it conflicts.

Thanks
