Article arrows missing

Hello,
please is there anybody can help me in order to set arrows to surf among various articles of the same categories.
Infact after choosing one category, a list of articles appear, by selecting one of them, the single article is shown correctly but without any arrows.
I apologize for the question, but my skills are low.

create a new field of type "article (page) navigation",

assign it to the desired content types e.g. to type "article" and then click to save this new field

finally go to template manager and drag+drop it in a template position of the ITEM layout that your content type e.g "article" is using template "default" or "presentation"
