Show authors what other authors work at in frontend

On our online magazine we have multiple authors that write their articles in frontend. With the old version of our site, they worked in backend and could see what other authors were working on (by being able to see the other authors' articles' titles). Now, working in frontend they can't see what other authors work on and now we have the problem, that sometimes, two authors write about the same topic, which is not desired because we will only publish one of the articles, rendering the other one useless.
Is there a (simple) way to list the titles (not the articles themselves) of all not yet published articles written by a specific user group in frontend?

maybe an universal module with scpecific scope (group ordering date etc)and only title (exemple recent item title)
