Hello,

I am facing another problem concerning the ACL rights.
I have the following kind of categeroy:
-Movie
--Die Hard
---die hard 1
---die hard 2
--Star Wars
---star wars 1
---star wars 2
...

Users should be able to create an article for submission from the frontend, but I would like that some of user can only submit in one of the sub category.

Example:

One group of user can only create in die hard 1 and another group only in die hard 2

When I check in the acl manager the create option for this category only, the link to create the article
appear correctly, but when I click on it it says that I do not have the permission to create such content.
To obtain the permission, I have to check create for FLEXIcontent, but then all categories are check, and if I uncheck Movie for example,
all the sub categories will be uncheck too...
so I don't know how to do.

any ideas?

Thank you

Hello

1. please use v2.2.0 r1932 +

2. NOTE:
a. ACL heritage works in FLEXIcontent the same as in Joomla
b. to only allow a specific sub category use "SOFT DENY"=not set and then in the parent of subcategory tree set to ALLOW
c. if a user belongs to 2 groups and in 1 of the 2 of them is explicitly denied then 'create' privilege, then setting 'create' to allow in the other usergroup has no effect

3. for setting the global ACL go to FLEXIcontent component parameters by clicking "configuration" and then permissions TAB, set these groups 'create' to soft deny (*not set)

4. do not use 3rd party component ACL manager when using FLEXIcontent, FLEXIcontent and "ACL manager" are not 100% compatible, currently "ACL manager" resets FLEXIcontent ACL

Thank you for your answer. I can't find the soft deny that you are talking about. I'm working with the french version, and in the permission tab I have just 3 choices:
inherited
allowed
denied

Anyway, I want to bypass the problem (since I'm using acl manager), by not showing the new article icon in the frontend, but I can't find where I have to set that:

It is a menu link, of the type FLEXIcontent -> category
and if a user have the permission to create an article there is an icon at the top (next to the print and rss icon) How can I disable this icon?

Thanks you very much for your support,

Hello

soft deny = "Inherited" everywhere and at top level (Joomla Permissions) it should be "Not set"

Ok thanks, all options were set to soft deny then.
But even this would not solve the problem.

the problem is that I created categories and subcategories, and to mark multiple categories on one article, I used FLEXIcontent category for my menu link.

But now, if I want to allow a user to create an article in one sub cat. I have to allow create for FLEXIcontent (if I don't, I have a message that says that I am not allowed to create such content even if there is the create link). But, if I check this, all the cat and sub cat are also check by inheritance. So I can't specify only one specific sub cat

So is there a way to do this? (I thought I could put all category in the same level, so I could disable a "parent" category without disabling a sub cat, but I would loose the parent relation in the categories)

Hello

yes a user that cannot create in any category, cannot access the item form, that means that the category override by menu (for submission) cannot be used
