[SOLVED]is there some way for image gallery to link to pdf

hello!
how to use in flexicontent?
result in frontend should be:
jpg thumbnail-preview of pdf+ with link to pdf download

there is no php code of generating thumbnail-preview-jpg from pdf automatically?

whats the best way?

thumbnailing a PDF would need an exta external gallery to be included with FC, and this is not available


about linking images,

the image / gallery field can link to custom URLs
-- inside field configuration, there is a parameter to enable the optional property "link to url"
and a new property "Link to url" will appear in item form

i dont know much, but this seems generally too much based on serverside-technical restrictions to standardize in a component?

needed in phpthumb for pdf2jpg:ImageMagick and more important GhostScript(where is this installed on shared hosting anyway?)
