Ordering of Items, Joomla vs FLEXIcontent ordering

Hello,
I'm running into something very troubling when using flexicontent. It seems that every module that lets a user sort items by ordering is useless since flexicontent ordering is different than joomla ordering and doesn't sync up. What are my options as a workaround? Can it really be that all joomla modules are useless to work with flexicontent items when it comes to ordering by order?

Ie. News module that shows items from news category. I set news module to order items by ordering. I then re-order my items in flexicontent. This has no effect and module still displays the order of how joomla seems them.

Hello

you don't mention this, so i guess you have not tried it

click "Filters" and the change the ordering displayed from "FLEXIcontent" to Joomla, and then order and save the new ordering, then check in frontend (clearing cache should not be nessesary, if your module does not have CACHE on)

-- the reason for having a "FLEXIcontent" order is because items can belong to multiple categories, items have a different order for every category they participate

-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.

No that doesn't work. The 3rd party modules where I have to sort order by ordering are going by the order number, which doesn't change when you use drag and drop:

screencast.com/t/hI1JkC0r You can see I have them ordered by ordering and the numebrs are not in order. And that is what Joomla modules are going by. How do we fix this bug?

Thanks for the reply.

I had to manually type in the numbers once in order and then it works. But that leads me to my next question. I would like the items from a category to be in order how I order them, but it seems like the get the ordering from the flexicontent side of things instead of the joomla side of things. How do I change that?

Hello

i don't understand what you ask, you want the "Joomla" Ordering to be preselected ?

there is no option for this, you will have to take an extra step before ordering

I create a menu item to a category: index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=category&cid=17

I set the list of items to show ORDERING BY CURRENT CATEGORY order. When this category list shows on frontend, it is still using the flexicontent ordering and not the joomla ordering. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Or this some code I can edit somewhere?
