Setting up Alpha Index via field other than title

I have an Alpha Index that shows a list of alphabetic 'Items' according to 'Title' in one section which is fine.

I have another section where I want to populate the alphabet of an Alpha Index group of 'Items' using a 'Related' field, problem is I can not find a way to change it from using the default 'Title' field.

I have gone through FAQ's and the Forum but have been unable to sort a solution.

Is it possible to do?

Thanks

Hello

I changed the title of this thread to a more appropriate:

Setting up Alpha Index by using field other than title

about your request/question
- using custom field to setup the alpha-index would make it more expensive in big web-sites !! (e.g. 50,000+ items)
- this is not implemented, of course, of course it is ok that you ask in case you have missed some configuration option

Regards

Hello

please read my answer above

also note that alpha index is not static (if it was static we would be having this conversation) it uses the items of the current view that matched the current text search AND field filters,

its calculation is done so that it takes as little SQL penalty as possilbe, what you ask is not implemented / not available
