Hi,

I want to have links to download files (pdf) on the homepage on my website.
Is there a simple way to do this with Flexicontent ?

Thanks for your help

Kind regards

simply ceate a download filed ?? not

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

1. Create an new FLEXIcontent Item type and then create a new FLEXIcontent "file" field and assign it to the item type

2. Create an item with documents via "new item"

3. Create a FLEXIcontent universal content module and in FILTERING scopes , use "Item scope" to select the item

Assign the module to your Homepage menu item only

Hi,
Thanks for this reply but the problem is still the same for me : the file's title is not a direct-link to download the document
(I'm first redirected to a detail download page after I click on the document's title).
I just want to have direct download links for some pdf files directly appearing on my homepage (you just click and the download of the pdf begins).
Is this possible?
Thx

File field displays download link without showing a details page. Have tried what I suggested?

Also why not just create a new item of type article, and add links to files inside the description and then display it inside module that only appears in homepage menu item?

Hi,

I tried what you said for with the field 'file' or with just a link in an article to download and get the same result.

The field 'file' or the link in the description of an article are direct links indeed, there are no detail page after but the 'extra step' comes from the module I think : I put the item in a universal fexicontent module that is shown on my homepage.
And the module shows the item, not directly the field. I'm first redirected to the category page of the item itself I think.

When making a new item it is mandatory to associate it to a category (even if it is 'non-categorized'). Therefore I first go to this non-category item page before.

I get desperate about this...

Hello

You said

"it shows the item"

yes, but you forgot 1 step

-- you disable of fields of the item:
title
text (description)
image
hits
etc,

and then you scroll down more and go to parameter
"Custom fields"
and add the field name of the file field

e.g.

field47

Thus the module will show only file field (out of all fields of the item)
