Hello,
I have a nice pretty URL at joomla-4015-14033-32248.cloudwaysapps.co...latest-announcements that joomla made. However, all the items in this category have the words 'component' and 'flexicontent' in the urls. How do I remove those?

joomla-4015-14033-32248.cloudwaysapps.co...r-retreat?Itemid=152 is an example url on that page if you hover over the title of any announcement. It should really just be joomla-4015-14033-32248.cloudwaysapps.co...hurch/winter-retreat

Thank you kindly.

No, creating a menu category blog did not work. It only works if that menu is a category blog using com_content and that's what you use on the site. But I want to use flexicontent to show my items, so the url is /index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=category&cid=17. I'm really surprised flexi doesn't have this built in when every other component I am using doesn't add the extra junk to the url.

What are my other options? I went through both documents. They did not help.

you didn't read well the faq in
joomla config
1 active sef
flexi config
2 set Remove above from pathway (breadcrubs) yes
3 set Create pathway automatically yes
4 Add /item/ in item SEF urls no

if you need specific url you need to create a link (where you want) to your content type flexicontent (categorie, item) what will use alias
in every categorieparams you can check if name was in url
in this link you can specifie level of sub category

=> that a joomla behavior if you need more use sef component like 404sef mijosef acesef

Hello

such a URL is possible only if not menu item is found !
and in some cases due to a bug in v2.2.0

such URLs are not our intented behaviour

-- please use v3 BETA5a, it is stable , except for fancybox broken (use multibox instead)

-- please go to the 1st TAB of flexicontent configuration (component parameters)
and find the SEF parameters
, there check that your default menu item is public AND it is not have a parent menu items of non-public access or parent menu items of wrong access level

if you are using v3 BETA5a and you still get such URLs then please send a PM to me with super admin access and with frontend URL example

I did have those settings on but they still had no effect on the url. I will try beta. Do you plan on a release candidate soon for Flexi v3?
