Separate Upload_maxsize for frontend uploadform

Hello Flexicontent team,

I ran across following problem:
I got a site which can be edited via frontend and the users shall be able to upload files and images via frontend forms. However I don't want them to be able to upload files larger than 2MB. The admin who edits the page via backend however shall be able to upload files up to 8MB. The upload_maxsize of the component is therefore set to 8MB. Now I want to hardcode the upload_maxsize for the frontend in my image.php override like so .
This works fine until the filemanager is called who sets the $params = null like this
.
This way my override is useless, for the flexicontent.helper.php resets the params to the standard component params like this

Now my question is:
Is there a way to achieve what I want without having to hack or override the filemanager.php nor the flexicontent.helper.php?

Thanks for the Support in advance!

with regards

coweb

Hello

this should probably be a per user-group setting (along with other per user-group configuration, which will include our current per user group configuration and more)

- the per user-group setting are now meant to be in v3.1, too late for v3.0
and we will need a flag to say which is the primary user-group of the users to make this work because user belongs to multiple groups,

about having a different setting for frontend via a parameter, yes that would be another choice, but this discussion is for v3.1

you may open an issue in GitHub repository, it will be accepted
