Hi,
I see something new in FC but i don't undestand the point.
In the Type view, i have a new colum : "Joomla Article View". The choices are "Allowed" or "Redirect to FC item view".
I really don't understand how this works and how to use it wisely...
Note that i have on top of article " text placed before (all) article content " shown if i am in "Joomla Article View" and this text disappear if i am on "redirect to FC item view".
Even with the short explanation on top of the column, i dont understand how to use this.
So shortly :
- What is this feature do ?
- What is "Joomla Article view" ?
- What is "Redirect to FC item view" ?
- By default, the button is on "Joomla Article View", do i have to switch to "Redirect to FC item view" ? If so, Why ?
- What is the text showed ("text placed before all article content") when i am in "Joomla Article View" ? How to get rid of this text in the "Joomla Article View" ?

Thanks !

Hello

- you create a Joomla category menu item

the above menu will display the Joomla category view, and it will contain links to Joomla article view,
the links will not be routed (redirect without reload) to FC item view

this way you can use Joomla article view,
(note if you do add custom fields to this type), and you use Joomla article view, then the custom fields will be prepended before the article description

Hi Georges,
Even with your explanation, i don't really understand... (sorry...).

I try different things and nothing change in frontend... (except the sentence "text placed before...")
In what situation can i need to use this option ? How can i choose the best adapted option ? Do you have a example to help me to understand ?
You wrote that if i put "Joomla Article view" i have the custom fields shown before... Ok, but it's a fresh install and i didn't create any custom fields at this point : why do i have the "text place before..." sentence shown ?

I'm sure you put this option for a good reason (you don't spend time to put button for nothing !) but i don't figure out how to be efficient with this option..

I have other question on other new option i saw but i will create a new subject (better for sorting question and answer in the forum :).
Xavier

Hello

do this
- create a menu item of type "Joomla category" (NOT FC category)
and click the article links,
the Joomla article view will open (if you click an article with type "allowed ...")

- If i make a link to a FC category, i have the FC view with the filters, alphabetical filter, etc..
- If i make a link to Joomla Category, i have always the Joomla Category shown and the links to article in the category view, articles are shown also in the same way...
(really sorry........)

Hello

the article that you click, needs to be associated with a FLEXIcontent type, that has "allowed" the Joomla article view

e.g. Joomla article 481 is of FC Type "Type21"
-- and "Type21" is set to "Allow" Joomla article view

we speak about frontend viewing, not about backend

Thanks for your time Georges.
I will try to figure out what that changes.
Anyway, if i put the Joomla view, how can i get rid of the "text placed before (all) article content " sentence ? I didn't create any additionnals fields, i check the template and leave only the "description" field but the text is still here.
Do i have to edit the template to remove this or change something in the language substitution ?

Hello

it was forgotten there !
will fix / remove it

in file:
plugins/system/flexisystem.php

Replace:
Code:
return 'text placed after article title' . $this->renderFields($context, $row, $params, $page);
with:
Code:
return $this->renderFields($context, $row, $params, $page);

Thanks for report

FLEXIcontent is quite big extension, if that is an excuse for forgetting it there !!
