[SOLVED] About frontend display of select field

Flexicontent is a cool CCK, keep the good work going.

I'm trying to implement this FAQ
I can get it to work, but I want it to work a little differently.
All I'm trying to create is a "Created By" field, that links to all articles by the author of the article.
Two problems
1) In the add new article form, it does not select the user by default, I have to choose it from a drop down. Can make the current author default and hide the field in the "Add item form" ?
2) The result is filtered to "Author" and "Category",> I want it to be just Author.

I need exactly what you have implemented in this website for the "By" field.

there is a new field called "Author items" in v3 BETA7g

and another field for listing author details: "User profile"

Am I going to lose my settings?

Beta 7G,
The features I liked are editing recent votes and Author items.
I need quick help with one thing though,
After updating, the the Carousal "Cleared (Below)" option does not seem to work(in the carousal layput tab).
I need a fix to get the text below the image and not float to the right of the image like it does now. (in the carousal component).

May be there is quick CSS fix, couldn't figure it out though, I'm not a pro so would appreciate the help.
