Hi,

Filters are definitely a super powerful tool in Flexicontent.
Still I was struggling with something which seemed simple, but for which I have not found the solution despite the fact I have looked 10 times in the configuration of the field, of the filter, of the categories, of general configuration etc.

Actually, when showing the filters, you generally want them sorted alphabetically, which is the case by default.
Example :
- music
- painting
- writing

But how can I have them reversed, namely from Z to A
- writing
- painting
- music

(To be more specific, the *text* field which I imported is "year of production of the film". But in that case you want to put
- 2015
- 2014
- 2013
- ...
and not the opposite)

Txs a lot for showing me the way :-)

Hello

in v3.0.5 (almost done) we have added 2 new filter displays:

github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck...suecomment-129187765

slider
slider ranges

they support
- found values / labels
- custom values / labels

so maybe you can use a slider (not slider-range) with custom values and labels

this version says "dev" but has no new bugs compared to v3.0.4

Excellent news, these sliders !
For many cases, it will be more compact and more user-friendly than dropdown lists or others.

And thank you for the enhancement for 3.0.6, namely the Z to A !

Hello

this was added to v3.0.7-dev
for fields date, text, textselect

fields:
radio,radioimage, checkbox, checkboximage, select, selectmultiple
are unordered using the order that they are added in custom fields parameter, so it was not added for them

Hello

here is v3.0.7 which is almost finished,

please install in a testing website or in a website under development,
and provide some feedback, please note that what maybe broken is the filtering, so make sure to test all filters,
and also test various displays (select drop down, date picker, slider, slider range)

See changelog here and download the file

Hi,

Good job !

Well, I can't pretend I have tested all possible combinations, but at least, I have found something weird :
See attachment.
I have set "reverse order" on "Year" (text, containing 2015, 2014 etc) and "Theme test" (textselect, containing real text like "art, culture, ...").
It works great for the Year field : the order is reversed in all the displays I tested (even Sliders[range])
But for the Theme field, nothing changes whatever I set on "reverse order".

This was first done with github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck
After I retested with github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck...ases/tag/v3.0.7-dev2 , but same conclusion

I hope this helps

Marc
