I am using ver 3.0.8 of Flexicontent. This is about the adding item in the front end and the process flow.
After content in the front end by an user of "author" status is added by the "Add & Return" button then it saves and gives the message

"Notice

This content is assigned to your account. The current state of the content is set as 'Pending Approval' (unpublished). Please wait for this content, to be reviewed and approved".

Earlier, it would save and then the item form would open. Can you help please

Cheers!
Kirti

Hello

it mean that:
- the user does not have publish (edit.state) permission for the main category (that the item was assigned)

it is the expected message / expected behaviour

what is your question ?

Ok I understand. However, there is a problem with this process flow. If I want to avoid giving publishing rights to the user, then everytime the user "Adds and Returns" he will get a message that it is pending approval. This will substantially reduce the user-friendliness of the user-interface. Untrained users will find it difficult to use and will drop this.

The preferred process would be that of a "Save" or "Save and Close" or "Save and New" just like in Flexicontent or Joomla backend. The item may not get published but at least the user can see his work or continue to edit after saving.

The existing process is that after saving the item, the user has to find the item and then click on the edit button. This is time consuming and difficult. Please consider this

Hello

exactly this is a new feature in v3.0.8

-- in v3.0.8 there are parameters to disable message this message
inside form
and
after form submit

see changelog
...
- Allowed disabling display of item form information message, that says whether approval is needed. This is done via new parameter to component, type, submit menu configuration
...

Yes the message can be disabled but however the process is still to cumbersome for a common user. It would be good to have the functionality of:
  • Save
  • Save and Close
  • Save and New

Cheers!
