[SOLVED] Image field warning inside item form: "some values of this field have been skipped", happening for items imported via CSV

Previously our image fields and file upload worked fine. I have updated Flexicontent to the latest version (flexicontent-cck-3.0. and now we get the message "some values of this field have been skipped" "because the original file seems to have been deleted (thumbnailing of it has failed)"
This is happening on the one field that use the Item and Field Specific folder source as well as other fields that use Reusable DB mode.

What else can I check or do to resolve this error ?

the thumbnail code check if file exists on the disk

the question is:
does it show the images of the item
and e.g. 1 is skipped, or ALL images are skipped ?

They are all skipped.

then it means that the image -folder- path is wrong for some reason

here is what to do
- create a new item and add an image

what is the path of it ?
is it the same as the path of your existing images ?

I selected the "coming soon image" from the drop down as __no-foto-12.gif

- what is the path of your existing image
- what is the path of the images added by the new item
