About search word highlighting in search results list

Hi,

I am exploring the FLEXicontent search feature - first time ever in years.

When I search for "text" + "link" - it echos back the same description text twice - like flexicontent.org

www.flexicontent.org/site-search.html?q=...newest&limit=10&cc=p

I understand why - but is there anyway to get it to echo back once and highlight both words? It just seems more logical for a reader

Also - is there a way if the
1. meta description
or
2. introtext

exists show that first rather than the body text.

This would be more like how google works - show the meta description if you wrote one, or else it extracts from the body. I'm thinking it will help people to know what they are clicking.

Thanks,

Robert.

Hello

actually it is not multiple texts
- it is multiple part of the text, together with surrounding context

if the words are near to each other you will see parts that overlap
- what could be desired is if to 2 words are near , then try to show 1 text as you say
but only if they are near to each other
The above would need proper detection and implementation ...

Hi,

I have come to appreciate that being google isn't easy :) ...

In the future - do you think echoing the meta description would be a desired behavior if the client wanted?

I am thinking if you have a product - you would want the metadescription as it more accurately reflects the product than random words.

Cheers,

Robert

Hello

about meta description,
- you may open a new issue at GitHub,
(it will be accepted and marked as enhancement)

please give a short but good description of the behaviour you suggest
- and why / when it would be useful

(short but good description , so that when we read the issue after some time we will be able to quickly know what it is about)
