Hello

you speak of 2 topics

TOPIC 1:
Yes, it makes sense that when only one content type exists
- then the user should not be required to select a type in the search view, it is bad UI

will do this (should be a small fix):
github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck/issues/539

TOPIC 2:
Examine adding a parameter for preselecting a content type
- can do this in a future version

I think it should be topic 1 and topic 2 at the same time.

if (when only one content type exists)
{ then the user should not be required to select a type in the search view;}

elseif (we have more than 1 type)
{Examine adding a parameter for preselecting a content type;}

else {user can choose content type manually;}

Hello,

I have the same issue, I'd like to hide the type selection, I expected to hide it when I disabled the parameter "allow user selection" but it didn't work.
It's not easy to understand that you get no result because you didn't select a type. I think if the user don't select a type, then "all types" should be considered like it is when you use the search module.

Thanks

FLEXIcontent v3.0.14-RC2a

- fixed type selector not showing in some cases
- added message when type selection is required "Please select type"

To disable type selector:
- disable filters per type
- disable text-search fields per type

about auto-selecting the type if only -1- type exists i have opened an issue as mentioned above for v3.0.15
