[SOLVED] Related items filter and category filter do not combine as expected

In backend, I have a related field. When I select a category the item select not filter items, but it shows all of them.
FC 3.1.0-rc2

yes it was never supported, and the description also says it,
Only fields:

select / selectmultiple
radio / radioimage
checkbox / checkboximage

are supported in backend
we have already made change for this in upcoming to only all selecting the above fields as backend filters

so if you are talking of backend items manager then yes it is not supported, and new version makes this clearer

Then If i want to filter items by category in a related field in my backend, i have to create my own code, no?
The problem is that I have many item with the same name in several categories (client mandatory), and it's difficult know which is which.

Note, next FC version makes the related items field to be sortable in ITEM form
same applies for multiselect field

you can enable this via a new parameter

I had this problem before and reported it. But I think via Skype. There must be a conflicting script somewhere because I only had it on one page.
The problem is that when filtering in related item field choosing a category to filter to select an item from this category not only the items from the category but ALL items from ALL categories are shown!

the populated of items, was AJAXified thus fixing the performance issue on FORM loading in large sites,

since on form load zero items are included
- when a category is selected the category ID is sent to the server and server responds with the items of the category (applying also the configured filters like Item TYPE)
