Hello

the documentation about custom plugins is still valid

just some recommened changes are not there , most notably is that
- we now have a parent class
- we have code for plugins to support fieldgrouping

in general you do not need to make any updates to your custom plugin

it should still work

To see recent changes
you may checkout code of text/text.php plugin
