Introductory note on main page

I want to post a description of my site on the main page, but each time I go to the Joomla back end and post a new article, my only choices are -Any- and -Coin- (which allows me to post a new coin image), and that's not exactly what I want. Is there a place within Flexicontent where I can post an introductory note on the main page?

what you see in the home page is your
- home page menu item + the modules assigned to be shown when home menu item is active

e.g. you home page could be "Joomla featured articles"

i do not know what you have as home page menu item

I've set my Home link back to the Joomla default. It now goes to a blank page. Then I have two menu items below that, View the Collection and Featured Articles.

But when I go to create a new Featured Article in the back end, it wants to create a new coin entry, not an article that I can enter introductory text in.

Joomla "default" is not relevant


If you want to display something in home page via FLEXIcontent
then you can make your home menu item be one of the FLEXIcontent menu items

or create a FLEXIcontent universal content module and assign it to home page menu item
