I want to see all the files when I click to select a file in item form.

How do I clear the "uploader" filter?

Hello

you have to click in it and select:
"-"

If an experienced user as you have missed it
then it must be a bad User Interface choise ?

No, its not a bad UI choice.

I have no filters set for the File List in the item form.

Does it have to do with where the files are stored? All the files in the File Manager are stored in Joomla/file directory.

did you find the uploader filter in the files list ?
is it now working after selecting value "-" in the uploader filter

There are not filters set as far as I understand. But I don't see anything that says "Uploader Filter" I am attaching a few screenshots. This is what I see in file field.

Here is a screenshot of File Manager. The uploader filter is not set here.

I don't get that view in the item form while using the file field.

Hello

if the uploader filter is missing
then the user does not have permission to view all files
(probably ACL "View all files" is not granted to the user)

you may send a PM with super admin access to review this

- provide an example account that i can use
and mention which item and which field to to edit to see the effect
