I am needing to create a new website, but I want to copy my existing content and put it into the new website.

Is there

1. An easy way.

All I want is the articles from within Flexicontent

Look forward to hearing any answers.

I have used Joomla Backup / Akeeba Backup successfully in order to transfer existing content between different servers..

I have tried to use the backup, but the problem I have is that the backup will not only upload the content but everything else.

secondly, it creates an insert script that overwrites all the existing content that I have in my new site.

Is there a way of only extracting the content data only and re-importing it. (ie. appending to the current database)

Any help or ideas would be great.

Normally you shoud be able to export (dump) just selected tables and import them into an other existing database. Attention: When you do this, you risk to have doubled IDs for items (articles) and this will cause problems...

.
Try the Export Content extension.
It enables you to selectively export content from one website and "install" that content on another website.
It can export/import categories and articles.

Export Content (C)
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...oomla-migration/4054

Note: it requires Joomla Legacy Mode, so enable that system plug-in.

- install the component on the old website
- export the selected content (which it saves to a ZIP file).
- install the component on the new website
- install the exported ZIP file (like an extension)

This is how the content is imported, the exported content file is installed like an extension using the Joomla Extension Manager.

You can select which category to import into.
Assuming you import into an existing FLEXIcontent category you will need to "bind" those new items/articles to the FLEXIcontent extended data.
FLEXIcontent will prompt you to do this when you open the Items page.

Un-install the Export Content extension.
Disable the Legacy plug-in.
Done.

Note: this extension is a Joomla content tool.
It only works to export/import the standard Joomla content.
It does not process FLEXIcontent extended fields.
