fc 3.3.2 - category view - hide items

In one particular category view I intend to prevent all items from displaying.
To achieve the aforementioned scenario, I am overriding the view on the menu item that links to this particular category.

Nonetheless, I can+t seem to find parameters to override the published date and the intro text.
Additionally, although the "Read more" can be hidden via parameter, the choice is not honoured.

Hello

you should use access levels to prevent items from showing

or set them in unpublished state thus only super admin or their owner can see them

I actually want the items to be displayed to the public elsewhere. just not in this view.
It seems a little odd that one may hide everything except the description, the date and the read more button (for which there is a control parameter that is not applied). Sounds like a bug to me-

Thanks for all your help.

Hello

simple solution to filter them
1. Create a field with name "HideInThisView" with field type "Select" and values "Yes:1%%No:0" and make the field filterable
2. Edit items and set the field to Yes
3. Add a locked filter for field "HideInThisView" in the category that you want to hide the items *(there is a parameter to force the value of some filters)

About "bug", i don't understand , the items are set to be visible so they are shown, what is shown about them depends
- on category parameters --and--
- on template file "category_items.php"

now if you want to hide all items
then you can also set items per page for a category to zero to force hiding ALL items

Thanks.
This is exactly what I needed.

There's another issue now, however.

Even though the parameters are set to display the parent category Title and description, neither is showing.

I also would like to hide the search form completely, preferably without resin to a CSS rule.

All sorted now.

I chose Categories instead of Category view.
Now it all falls into place.
