Animated gif in "Image or Gallery" field

Animated gif in "Image or Gallery" field was created by bendeb
Hello,
I wonder if there is a way to visualize the animation of a gif file in "image or gallery" field, with fancybox (or others lightbox script) ?
For now, it seems it don't work. Even with other lightbox scripts (Multibox, JCE, Galleriffic...).

If not, it will be nice if we can see animated gif.

you need imageMagick on your web server

version v6.5.4-7 2014-02-10 Q16 or later

Hello ggppdk,
I have checked my own server parameters, and I have ImageMagick 6.9.10-68 (Q16 x86_64 2020-04-13), but animated gif don't work :(
Is there a solution about this ?

if you check the created thumbnails are GIF or are they other ?
i mean is the file format changed to something else ?

Hello,
The created thumbnails are gif files (for each size) but not animated.
However, the file stored in original folder is also a gif file and it works for it. The original file stored is animated.
So, how can I can do ?

Hello

i confirm this problem

i think it is because phpThumb that we are using uses PHP method imagecreatefromgif()
which only supports first frame.

I believe this has been working in the past so i am not sure what changed inside phpThumb code.

In any case you can not use animated GIFs and keep the animation
I don't know if this will be fixed anytime soon.
