Postal/Zip Code Search

Hello,

I have a directory type of page with a map module and list of locations that use the google address field.

Is it possible to enter a postal or zip code in the search and have the results show locations in that general area?

Right now the search is only searching for the exact postal codes in the location items address fields.

1 create a zip field (text)
2 in address field use detailler form option, after you can link zip code to your text field
3 allow search and filter to your zip field (you can hide it in item form

Can you please explain step 2 in a little more detail?

1 go to adress field
2 go to tab editing > form field
3 set choose formated mode
4 go to tab proprieties as field
5 map zip code with you text field

We tried and followed the steps but no success.

When a user enters his postal/zip code, it ends up in the middle of the ocean, probably long 0 and lat 0.

i didn't think you speack abot same thing
krae want to create a field to filter item in categorie view .... this filed will only list good zip code nothing else ...
can you create your own post and explain more ?
