phpThumb on backend fails, php 8.1

Hi there,

I notice that
phpThumb on backend fails, php 8.1, frontend is fine.

Image thumbnails in item-form show alt-text "Preview image".

[Setup]
joomla 3.10.11
flexicontent 4.1.3
php 8.1 (with imagick 3.7.0 and gd bundled (2.1.0 compatible))

I am happy to attach here or pm a full debug-output that I saved.

yes as we known phpthumbs (external library) isn't ready for php8.1
waiting for a fix stay on 8

Oh no, I just updated 50 websites to php 8.1 after I read that FC 4.1.3 is php-8.1-compatible.

1. Going back from 8.1 to to 8.0 should be painless, am I right?
2. phpthumb v1.7.18-202208061319 speaks of php 8.1; Could we safely use that for the meantime? [ github.com/JamesHeinrich/phpThumb/releases/tag/v1.7.18 ]
3. (I understand that phpthumb is external, and FC itself is ready, and that's great news. But since phpthumb is a dependency, would it be a good suggestion to note that in the changelog to prevent devs to make my mistake...? Just a thought...)

Thanks for pointing to the link, micker.
Since the fix/workaround mentioned there doesn't fix it for me, I'll go back to php 8.0 for the meantime.

In case I don't read the news, will we notice when it's time to re-upgrade to php 8.1 (a.k.a. a new phpthumb is included in FC)?
