Get Joomla 'Featured' Status was created by krae

Hello,

I have a Flexi Universal module displaying items in a specific category and I've created a custom layout. I cannot use the 'featured' option within the module due to the design, so I would like to get the Joomla Featured status so I can add a class to the item if it is featured.

Is it possible to retrieve this in php?

.. maybe you Can had it like a class in your template ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?
