500 Error on Image Upload

500 Error on Image Upload was created by momentis

I am running FC 1.5.3c on a server where I have a number of sites running FC 1.5.3c without a hitch. On this particular site, when I create an image field, using the defaults with no watermarking, I get the following 500 error when attempting to upload an image for a content item:

Any ideas why? I am at a loss.

BTW - The JPG files I am attempting to upload are only 97k in size.

Having the same problem here. My file is only 73k and 800x600. But when I try a 25k file of 400x300 it works fine.

Hopefully someone will chime in.

The bit of information I got from my host was that the script that processes the images is taking too long and the connection to Mysql is timing out.

Solution might to make the connection persistent or maybe rework the script some how.

I'm working on a modified version of flexi using a different image processing script. I've got the basic resizing working great. No more time outs.

It's got some work to be done. And some other modifications. Stuff that isn't there right now is watermarks and the quality of the resized images. So need to see if those are possible with the new script or not.

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
