Frontend editing not saved (J 1.5.23 - F 1.5.4) was created by wiebe

Hi there,

Working with Joomla 1.5.23 and Flexicontent 1.5.4
Searched everywhere but could not find the answer.
Frontend submission is working properly.
Editing a post isn't.
Message: "Item saved successfully" - however changes are not saved!

What could be wrong?

Hello,

Maybe you have disabled "Auto-approve versions",
and when you save you don't select yes to "Approve version".

Thanks for the tip, but no.
Auto-approve was enabled.
For one reason or another the vstate-variable (which has to be set to 2) does not appear in my form - even though auto-approve was set.

in ../views/items/tmpl/form.php

Code:

<?php if ($autopublished = $this->params->get('autopublished', 0)) : ?>
<input type="hidden" id="state" name="state" value="<?php echo $autopublished;?>" />
<input type="hidden" id="vstate" name="vstate" value="2" />
<?php 

When I place the vstate-variable outside the condition - the form is saved. That works for me, but I don't understand why this happens.

Hello,

So the problem was indirectly related to auto-publish option.

Since as you say you have set auto-publish option, then for some reason the $this->params is being modified by something, have you made any other changes to the code that could effect $this->params?
