Thumbnail creation: no white background for GIFs

I have set all thumbnails (small, medium, large) to 200x100 pixels which is the size of the original image. Also I set scale not crop. The thumbnail creation changes the images anyway.

Image can be modified not to create one of the thumbnails if :

-- 1. width and height parameters match original size
-- 2. no watermark needs to be added
-- 3. a new parameter in each thumbnail parameters to copy original file if the above (1 and (2) apply

Test by replacing image.php and image.xml

NOTE: existing thumbnails will not be recreated, if you want thumbnails recreated/copy, then delete the s_* or m_* or l_*

I have deleted the thumbs and replaced the files. First tests show that it does not work. I have setup the new image field accordingly but the thumbs are changed into a greyish background.

i have tested this and it works, if the thumbnail width, height match and parameter "use watermark" is disabled ...

but in r1520 : i have also added an extra option to force copy original regardless of width and height:

flexicontent.googlecode.com/svn- ... /image.php

flexicontent.googlecode.com/svn- ... /image.xml

flexicontent.googlecode.com/svn- ... _image.ini

Watermark: disabled
Thumbnail quality: 100%

The thumbnails are now copied. Backround is white. But on the page the background is still grey. The reason is that the thumbnail path of the images is as follows:
Code:
http://www.muenstermann.com/components/com_flexicontent/librairies/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/stories/flexicontent/l_andritz.gif&w=200&h=100&aoe=1&q=95&f=gif

As I wrote, the thumbnails are now created in a correct way with white background. But flexicontent puts not just the thumbs in but changes them with phpthumb. Also, I guess q=95 means quality of 95%? If yes then this is wrong too because I set thumbs quality to 100%.

Yesterday, I was answering using one of these Apple gadgets, so my answer might have been misunderstanding due to the missing details.

When I said testing I have not changed anything on the code but just played around with the link FC is producing
Code:
http://www.muenstermann.com/components/com_flexicontent/librairies/phpthumb/phpThumb.php?src=/images/stories/flexicontent/l_andritz.gif&w=200&h=100&aoe=1&q=95&f=gif

of course removing the f=gif will give you white background because you no-longer output a gif which has limited number of colors
