[soved]Request Approval Button on FC 1.5.6 RC9 (r1514)

Err... their state (if I understand you right). In fact just the way it used to be before the request approval button was broken. That is the author creates an article and may save it for further editing later. Whenever the article is completed the author saves it and requests approval. That puts the article into the state "pending waiting for publication approval" which is then shown in the dashboard so my editor sees it and can review it before she publishes it. Also an author may not change an article that is already published - we solved this with setting the automatic approval option to no in the configuration.
Best Regards

In r1524

# Workflow / manual approval improvements,
(a) added selection for automatic or manual approval requests (global configuration),
(b) added manual approvals to frontend,
c) added support for FLEXIaccess groups (J1.5) as email targets for notification,
(d) change manual approval to use the customizable email targets for pending approval state,
(e) other minor improvements/fixes

can you test from SVN ?

Just tested the new version from svn (downloaded today) and as of now after some testing from my point of view the new version seems great. Lightyears ahead of my old 1.5.6 RC2a (r1057). I didn't test the notification functions yet, since our old editorial process works as desired and we don't need the notifications yet. I'll test them in the next days though :-)
But so far: Really great work and Thank you for your work!
Have a great evening

NOTE that, the request approval button will use the SAME configuration as the automatic notifications for "pending Approval" state

Regarding this, I have two petitions

Can the approval button appear also on the item view?

When an author create a new article it appears as published and then like Draft. Can it start on Draft directly?

Unless otherwise indicated:
Joomla 3.8.1
Flexicontent 3.2.1.7

Hello

you can go to FLEXIcontent component settings and configure the workflow TAB , and set it to use "manual" approval

also pleas read this FAQ article:
About WorkFlow (item state) and Document Versioning and Notification System

Mmm I think I didn´t explain myself properly. I´ll try to do it better.

About the approval request button:
I´m seeing the "Approval request" button on the backend, on the items view. But not on the edit item view. Can it appear also here?

About the new state and forced state:
I see that you have 4 options.
- Default state for new articles (backend)
- Default state for new articles (frontend)
- Default state for new articles (backend)(non publishers)
- Default state for new articles (frontend)(non publishers)

My point, and I see that is not a big deal, is that a non publisher could be confused because when he adds a new item he´ll see the state "Published" on the field, regarding the forced value after he save.

Hello

i see, just

1. "can publish" privilege is calculated for the main category of submitted item after you submit,

2. BUT user is warned that his/her item was not published with a descriptive message

Oh I see it now, thanks for the answer.

What about the approval button on the item view? Do you prefer that I create a thread about it on the request feature subforum?
