Ok, case:

A menu entry category (category A) with a universal flexicontent module associated (category B).

I need either:

Show on category view, Category A items that don´t appear on Category B. (better option)

Show on module, Category B items that don´t appear on the items shown on the Category view.

This case is basically to keep featured items (category b), separate from normal items.

Hello

i see,
yes this make sense, there should be a parameter for this in category parameters,

now, this can be done by
- adding a check inside a custom FLEXIcontent template

- another solution, would be do display ALL of them inside the category view (no module), and enable "content list markup" for featured categories in component configuration

The content list markup wouldn´t work because the new articles would hide the old featured ones and I´m interested on keep them visible.

Hello

regardless of module,

this maybe a common need (exclude items belonging to featured categories)

-- we have categories that are marked as featured, you are using this right?

-- i think we can add parameter to exclude items belonging to featured categories, made a note to test this

but you can try also try the next beta soon

Hi Georges,
I'm reading this posts and i was wandering as the post is quite old :
In the last version of FC, is there a option to exclude an article to be shown in the category view ?
For example, i have 10 articles in a category and when i show the category, i want to exclude the articles 1,5,7 in the list.

Thanks

Hello

alternatives:

1.
e.g. if items fit in a single view

a. create some menu item A to point to anything
b. create a univeral module to list the category
select category via Category SCOPE and exclude some items via item SCOPE

2. (if appropriate) Try setting items to non-public access but to some different access level

3. Create an extra category that only the desired items

4. Tag the items and use tag view

Thanks Georges,
I think the simpliest way for users (as i have to explain this to people after) is the idea #3 : to create a cat only for the view is easier than the other solution.

Thanks again for the ideas :)
Xavier
