Switching between translated pages doesn't work

Hi,

I have 2 menu items linking to FlexiContent category list at my site: edoula.me.
1. Under "My pregnancy story"
2. "Pregnancy glossary" (under "find answers")

Changin language while at "Pregnancy glossary" page works fine. Changing language for "My pregnancy story" page doesn't work properly. I can't feagure out way.

what error message do you get ? and when ? when you click save to which form , the menu item form ?

Everything works fine in the backend.

In the front end the switch between the languages doesn't work properly.

Please follow these steps:
1. Go to edoula.me
2. In the top menu- click on "My pregnancy story"
3. On the top menu- click on the blue and white flag to switch to Hebrew.
Now you should have seen the same stories, but translated. I get an empty page\broken link.

4. If you'll now click on the proper button on the Hebrew menu you'll see that the page displayed just fine.
Also, if I do the same process from Hebrew to English it works ok.

Have you assigned the menu links together (assigned the Hebrew link as translation)? Which FC version are you using?

Yes, menus are assigned. Associate, not translation.

I'm using FC 2.2.0 r1955

thisis happening:

-- FLEXIcontent is by default configured to keep you in same category when you switch language

that is good when you have ALL your content of various languages in same category

but in your case you do not want the above behaviour


-- so do this, go to Joomla plugins manager
filter by "system" type

click to edit FLEXIcontent advanced Route plugin and disable "switch categories"

you may also want to enable the "DEBUG" inside the plugin to confirm that indeed what is happening is caused by the plugin


also please update to v2.2.0 r1967 RC

I updated and did as you suggested.
Still have the same problem and error messages when switching languages (looks like debugging message).

Could you please look at them?

I have no problem moving related items under the same category if you say it should work. I did it that way since this is the way Joomla articles work. I just don't understand how the other menu item, using the same method works fine.

You can go to the plugin and disable the parameter:
"Switch categories"

It's switching between menu item correctly now.

I kept the debugging on just to check and getting the following message:
Associated menu for 269: 280
Joomla language switched associated menu items that did not point to current content: Doing FLEXI switch

Since I'm just starting to work on my website I wish to have a clean start and work the best possible way.

Please advise if I keep working as is or keep related items under the same category and translate each item?
Currently the menu items switching works fine but switching between items doesn't.

I have the translated items in different categories because I need the translated category titles!
I have a page with about 500+ articles in 3 different languages and switching of menu items AND between articles works like a charm. Here is a FC category view, Just try switching:
