double category and item in URLs

Thanks for your reply. I have updated to 2.2.1 but it is the same. It appears to add the double url when I link the item as a child item under a category specific to a slave site. If I add a shared item to a slave site specific category the url is fine, ie specific to the slave site category. When I then link the item as a child of that category I then have the double url which I guess is one set for the primary category and one set for the slave site.

I was adding it to the menu so we can link to it on each slave site as the category names in the urls will be slightly different on each slave site. Any ideas how I might do that?
