Problems on notifications by category

I´m having problems with the notifications. Two things I have tested:
- Disable notifications for cat a (while enabled globally): Still arriving the global configuration
- Configured specific notifications for cat A (while enabled globally): Still arriving only the global

Related to this in the past I reported some problems regarding inheritance of notifications on subcategories ( www.flexicontent.org/forum/21-troublesho...access.html?start=10 ) but rereading I don´t see any movement regardin that

No luck. I manage to put my hands on an updated environment (I couldn´t update this one at the moment) and have tested several cases:

- Disable notifications for cat a (while enabled globally): Still arriving the global configuration. I would have expected to totally disable this
- Configured specific notifications for cat A with category configuration on "Use global": Only sends the global notifications
- Configured spectific notifications for cat A with category configuration on "Yes": Sends the category notifications

So.... looks like "Use global" is "use global notifications", yes is "send global and category notifications" and no is "use global notifications"?

Don´t know what changed but now the category specific ones are working

They were not working because the feature:
Send As BCC (sends single email with all recepients added as BCC)

was broken, this was fixed in v3.1.1

Yes it was designed like this, so that category notifications are added to the global notifications

Probably there should be an option to disable global notifications too

Could be. Maybe the correct implementation on my side wouldn´t be through global notifications but with inherited notifications on the root categories, but I was talking on the other thread, that wasn´t working when I tried

Send As BCC
- will break if the "sitename" email is also the email of one of the users that are receivers

thus you get same email twice (once as main recepient, and also a second time inside the BCC)
- and the update PHPmailer class included with Joomla will throw an error

Also v3.1.1 has fixed almost all issues found in v3.1.0-rc2

now about "global notifications",

i see that the global parameter does not exist in category configuration

- i think we can just add them, and it should work / allow disabling notifications

It should be like this:

Enable notifications:

- Use global
- No
- Global and category specific
- Category specific only

this should be more flexible, without breaking existing configurations:
