Hi,

My website is hosted in China on Alicloud - 4GB RAM and 2 vCore CPU.

So - should be fast - but isn't:

www.merits.com.cn/

phpthumb image download seems very slow to generate images eg. 7s for 500kb.

Now, I have duplicated the site onto my usual server to test and its faster:

DO you have any ideas as to why?

Hello

if you have the default cache size it maybe not enough and you start getting the thumbnails recreated

- edit phpThumb configuration to increase its size

are you thumbnailing local images or remote url images ?

the best is to configure flexicontent to use fixed sized thumbnails, you can do this in universal module configuration

Thanks - on closer examination its not phpthumb or FLEXIcontent.

Just the server is slow. This page just loads the images (1.3mb) without Joomla and still takes 10.1s to load:
