How to use a item/article picker in a text field? was created by grabit

I need to create links from articles/items, in order to fill a simple text or link field.

Is it possible to have an article picker just like in menu or JCE editor for fields like link or just simple text?

Hello

you want to create links that point to some form

and when clicked the form opens and some of the fields are filled-in automatically ?

i think you can do it simply
1 create a select field
2 use sql request to list item in com_content table (title = name and id = value) => your field return value
3 use prefix and sufix to create your link prefix

4 set remove space option to yes

No I am looking for a way in the back-end to create a link to an item in order to have a slideshow pointing to that article.

I am using a text or link field but for the moment we can’t pick the articles directly in the backend.

My temporary solution is to copy the link in another windows and paste it in my field. Not really professional.

Hello

i ll commit the Editor-XTD buttons that i have locally then

you can create a flexicontent textarea field with tinyMce and use these buttons to insert the links

here is v3.3.5-hotfix (which actually will be released as v3.4)

It includes the 2 editor buttons for textareas with tinyMCE

Hello

in addition to my above answer,
why don't you use a relation field (related items) ?
it allows selecting 1 or more items

I used the new button and it works perfectly. I just had to activate the plug-ins.

cool thanks for return

we found a light bug
- if you use the filtering form in the popup window (e.g. filter by category) then the items will no longer be usable
(clicking on the items will give a JS error)

also about button we will change icon to something more noticable

I fixed the issue mentioned by Yannick
- if you use filtering form in the popup, then clicking on item , no longer works (gives JS error)

Please update --again-- to v3.3.5-hotfix (which actually will be released as v3.4)
