[Old templates need to be Updated] Alpha index - custom list not applied

More

In a category view I've set Alpha Index to show a custom list of characters.
This setting is defined the same way both in the menu item override and the category itself,
The render view, however, keeps showing the default set, which includes numbers.

Thanks.

Hello

i have tested and it works

so are other parameters from menu item applied?

if other parameters are not applied then

- either the current menu item could a different than you think
examine HTML source
Code:
<body class="catid-22 site com_flexicontent view-category no-layout no-task itemid-655">

in the above case the menu item is 655

Also another reason of a menu item parameter is if current menu item is does matches current view
you can check this case by see if other --category--- parameters are active, (try hiding / showing category description)

Other parameter overrides in the menu item definitely work.
For instance, switching the visibility of the alpha index to Hide has the desired result.
It's just the Custom Alpha Index List that doesn't.

Hello

your template code is old, most of the related parameters are not used

Do this
1. Go to template manager and edit the item and then category layouts of template 'mytemplate',
2. Take a note or screenshot of the fields that you have in various layout positions (do this for item layout and then do this for category layout)
3. Close template and click to delete it (or you can manually rename the folder of template to 'mytemplate_backup')
4. Your template is based on 'default' (on 'table') template, click to duplicate 'default' ('table') template and give to new template the same name that you had before , 'mytemplate'
5. Edit mytemplate item and category layout and add again the fields in layout positions
