Hi!

I have been trying to copy some content from Finnish language to English.

This is the procedure:
1. I tick articles I want to publish as english versions (works ok)
2. I click copy/move icon (works ok)
3. Items copy/move is almost ok, only "selected contents" box remains empty (why?)*
4. When I save this procedure nothing appears to be copied under english flag :(

This is making me mad! This component is so good, but problems in internationalization are quite big issue for me..

*EDIT1: I have tried multiple times, and I did succeed to get content into selected contents view just once.. Something is broken in this view

EDIT2: I have included screenshot in this message.

My FLEXIcontent version is 1.5.2 stable r180

I solved my problem with joomfish and (maybe) found one bug which caused misbehavior

ERROR: If you choose some category e.g. research and select some items from this category in order to copy those in different language Flexicontent doesn't render those items in
selected contents view.

SOLUTION: You have to use date-filter in order to get this function work..

1. Choose some arbitrary date e.g. 1/1/2000
2. Choose items you want
3. Use copy/move function
4. All chosen items appear into selected contents view.

SUGGESTION: This is a bug. It should be fixed, because normal user will get confused and angry.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll have a look on that. I must confess I didn't perform any test with joomfish.
Thanks for having reported the issue to the tracker.

Thank you for your reply!

However, I managed to found another joomfish bug:

When you have binded certain item to menu and want it to be bilingual it should be a trivial task to do, but it's not.

Procedure is as follows:
- create item in language A as item A
- copy it to language B as item A
- bind item A to menu in language A
- edit item B in order to localize it
- try to switch between languages: yes, it doesn't work. Language A doesn't switch into language B.

However if you use category view everything works OK. But single item view - no go.

GRRRR.. :( I will insert this as a bug into google.code-tracker..

As you can see I am preparing bilingual site and working Joomfish integration is quite essential feature for me

Regards,
Jari

Don't worry we will sort this out ;-)
I finish the full frontend submission feature with Suriya (enjoyman) and then I'll make extensive testing with joomfish.
Add the bug to the tracker and we'll take care about it :-)
Cheers,
Emmanuel.

Actually it's not bug, it's "feature" ..

What Do I mean? Way how Flexicontent handles multilingualisation is not to fully integrate with Joomfish.

Instead article localisation is handled via copy/move function. So, I noticed that translated article is actually different item and it's "impossible" to bind as same single item as original item.

For me it's really BAD feature, because in my case end-users should be able to localise items by themselves in Flexicontent without using Joomfish component for localization of the items..

But Great that you will give some treatment to this feature/bug and even better that you (finally) will publish frontend edit - it's (almost) more important than working joomfish integration ;)
