Hi,

I have an issue on all my websites using Flexicontent. As soon as I try to upgrade to Joomla 3.10, the site crashes. It doesn't happens on the other ones.

Here is the error message:

Fatal error: Cannot declare class JEventDispatcher, because the name is already in use in /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/public_html/administrator/components/com_flexicontent/defineconstants.php on line 107

Any solutions?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Quick fix (may not be right, but it works without error):
Edit the file /administrator/components/com_flexicontent/defineconstants.php

LINE: 63, change the 3.9.99 to 3.10.99 like this:
if (!defined('FLEXI_J40GE')) define('FLEXI_J40GE', version_compare( $jversion->getShortVersion(), '3.9.99', 'g' ) );
TO
if (!defined('FLEXI_J40GE')) define('FLEXI_J40GE', version_compare( $jversion->getShortVersion(), '3.10.99', 'g' ) );

Happened to all my sites using this (awesome) component, but now all my sites and page load without error after I edited this.

You guys are great!  Thank you responding to the community!!!  This is just a quick solution I found.  I do not claim to be an expert on the code inside FlexiContent! :)
But this temp fix is at least necessary to access the back-end so the new fix can be applied...otherwise the site is fully broken and it would be impossible to upload a new package or use the module updater.

Hello

Unfortunately for all broken websites the only way to fix is a manual edit
Only if Flexicontent v3.3.11 is install prior to Joomla update ,  then next manual fix will not be needed

To fix website

1. Edit File  administrator/components/com_flexicontent/definecontants.php

At line 63, replace 3.9.99  with 3.99.99

if (!defined('FLEXI_J40GE')) define('FLEXI_J40GE', version_compare( $jversion->getShortVersion(), '3.99.99', 'g' ) );

2.  Go to Extension/Manage Database and click Fix
3.
Then upgrade to FC v3.3.11
