Hello
My question looks probably stupid and the answer is probably "no" but this could be helpful in my case
is there a way to don't show some categories on the website?

I can hide them by using CSS but we can maybe avoid to avoid showing them at all on the website - I can so use such categories for the administration of the site using some kind of "internal categories"

sorry,
but i don't understand the problem because you can unpublish a category not ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

I know this is a bit strange (however this is not a problem but a question)

I want to keep this category published but don't want to show it in the article

Hello

yes , you can hide some categories, (skip the creation of links, etc to them)
e.g. You want a category "special offers" ,
to use this category as a "secondary" category of the items

but you do not want this category to appear inside the item view as a category of the item

Go to Joomla plugins manager and open "Flexicontent" advanced route plugin
and inside its configuration there is a parameter to select "un-routeable" categories (please read popup description of the parameter)
