Let me explain: when I add content to a category, even though I selected the category before, I still have to specify the category when I edit the new content. This is a bit redundant... Is there a way to make it shorter?

hello 2 ways :
- in your type you can allow defaut category for a type
- you can use extensions.joomla.org/extension/flexi-admin/ to create a personnal dashboard

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
