Okay so here's how to get it working.

Download Joomla! 1.5.15 & FlexiContent 1.5 Beta5a

Unpack the FlexiContent zip file and upload to the Joomla! tmp directory and install from that location.

Voila! It's alive :)

I got this same error but it went away very quickly.

I did not get the error during installation, but only upon first attempting to add an item.

I had not set-up any categories, and once I set-up a category the errors went away.

It is important that you use the correct path when installing for directory. In my case it was: /domains/xxxxxxxx.nl/DEFAULT/j15/tmp/com_flexicontent_1.5_beta5
I picked the address from filezilla.
