Problems installing new version

I'm having real problems installing version 1.5.2 (I've never used Flexicontent before), and the suggestions is previous threads don't seem to be working.

When I try to upload in the tar.gz format, Joomla says this:

JFTP::store: Bad response
Warning! Failed to move file.
JFile::read: Unable to open file: '\nas44ent\domains\t\the-foyer.net\user\htdocs\Joomla\tmp\com_flexicontent_152_stable.tar.gz'
Unable to read archive

So, instead I unpacked the file and repacked it as a zip folder. However, Joomla then says this:

JFTP::store: Bad response
Warning! Failed to move file.

Then, I've uploaded the normal unpacked folder into the tmp folder and tried to install through the directory instead. What happens when I click install is the URL in the address bar changes back to ..../index.php and the entire screen goes blank. If I click refresh to it just reloads the first admin screen, and when I've checked flexicontent hasn't been installed.

I'm at my wit's end; any ideas?

Hi,

Just unpack the com_flexicontent_152_stable.tar.gz and you will get a com_flexicontent_152_stable.tar that you can install on your site.

I hope it will help you

Rgds

This is what it says when I try that:

There was an error uploading this file to the server

I tried a couple of times just to be on the safe side.

Sorry, i understood you tried to install the tar.gz file...

Is the FTP enabled in the global configuration?

If yes, try to disable it before installation.

Did installation of other extensions work?

Bye

I've tried it every way I can think of!

I just tried it again with FTP turned off, and I'm still getting the same error. :( I haven't had problems with any other extensions; I just tried another one and that worked fine.

Hi,

If you want, you can PM me a super-admin access to have a look at this.
