Content Ordering Is Inaccurate

I have found a bug that is annoying me no end.

I have a several sites where hundreds of items get entered prior to their publishing date. They may be checked or modified several times prior to publishing.

When I choose "Most Recent First" in the ordering, it does not us the publish_up date, but instead the modified date (I think).

Seems to me that if I have items set to publish LATER than others, that date should be used for most recent, and another option should be added for recently modified, if that is needed.

For example, using FLEXIcontent for a blog means that if you correct an error, that blog will show first, even if several days, months, even years have gone by.

Not practical.

Any thoughts? This is driving me batty!

Anyone have any ideas?

This is the major frustration for me right now. Some of my partners are balking at keeping their sites going because of the issues that spring from the content ordering problem.
