Version system on frontend

Version system on frontend was created by sudhi
I have managed to enable version control on the frontend. So far so good.

The issue am facing is as follows.

When I modify current version from frontend -- everything is fine. A new version is created.

However if I switch back to older version and modify the content - a new version is created. But in the backend, "Add the items current versions " - one of the post installation task gets enabled. Even after clicking on update nothing happens.

Can some one help me understand what is happening?
