Hi, I am on Joomla 1.7 and FC2. Whatever description I put into a category meta tag or in the description meta tag in the menu item that links to a category view it will be ignored and the default page meta description will be inserted!

Actually in 1420 and Joomla 2.5 I am still not able to setup meta description for category views (neither menu nor category meta tags do work).

hello,

i have just tested this , i have set the meta description and keywords, and look at page source and the appeared properly.

also there has been no changes to it since r1420, and looking at the code i don't see anything wrong

so the issue must be more specific, only way to identify this one is that you PM me admin access and direct me on which specific category to test

Ahhhrg. Sorry, my mistake. I made some changes to the Joomla template because in an earlier FlexiContent version the title was only inserted as
Code:
<meta name="title" content="Band- und Durchlauftrockner" />
which is not good. So I re-coded my template to show
Code:
<title>Band- und Durchlauftrockner - MÜNSTERMANN - Innovativer Anlagenbau aus Deutschland</title>
and somehow it made the keyword and description meta tag to disappear. The latest FC version includes also the <title>.

But <meta name="title"> and <title> are, as you can see above, different. <title> shows what I setup in Joomla.
